The first thing we had to do was to come up with ideas for our adverts. As a group we were able to come up with three different ideas that we thought would work well, these ideas were to have a family playing on the kindle I’m going through all the features with some dramatic music. The second idea was to do a generic phone advert with cinematic shots of the kinda. The final idea in the one we chose was to make it look as if the kindle was being experimented on find out what it could do i’m find out all the different features it has. We also added the cinematic shots from the second idea at the end with some information about the product.
So the first thing we had to do was to come up with advert ideas the. Were able to do this quite well in a group as we have different suggestions and we were able to narrow it down to 3 main ideas. These ideas were to have a family sitting in the living room on the kindle playing and trying to find something that they could do together with some information about the kindle being narrated at the same time, Work well because it can relate to different types of people. The second idea was to have a generic phone advert with different cinematic shots Of the kindleUpbeat dramatic soundtrack. We thought of this idea because most technology adverts do their adverts this way and it manages to draw attention to the actual product. The final idea came up with was to have a green screen In the background to make it look like we were in a science lab and have scientists experimenting on the kindle trying to find all the different features with some cinematic shots and informative details about the kindle at the end.
When it came to actually film out at that we first had to book a big studio to make sure that it was available for when we want to film.
As we were unable to film during college hours we decided to come in on Wednesday for a few hours to get the filming done as we need the green screen.
Even though the green screen was already ready Before we started filming we had to get the studio set upWith the furniture and equipment we needed for example, some level equipment which we borrowed from the science department.
First filming we were going through the script and realise that the advert was only a minute long and the script wasn’t short enough To fit that timescale.
Because of this we had to cut out most of the script and editing.
When it came down to editing we hit a few bumps for example when we were trying to edit out the green screen to replace it with a Science lab the was some lines through the picture.
This was from where the green screen had not been completely removed because we had lit the background property when filming in the studio.
We were however able to add in some Visual effects for example one point the kindle set alight and we were able to make it look like the candle had at the burst into flames.
We also had an issue with how long I’ll script was compared to the time frame we had for advert.
We also had an issue with how long how script was compare to the time frame we had for adverts. We had actually planned for it be a minute however when it came down to actually filming it it took longer than we expected before this seems to finish therefore we had to crop out quite a bit to fit in the time
This task we had to carry out audience research to do this we had to come up with for separate lists of questions we could put in a questionnaire.
What’s weirdo come up with questions we came back as together as a group and 10 questions in total to put into a website called survey monkey.
When we had done this we then had to get surveys filled up.
We decided that instead of just asking people around the college to fill in a questionnaire, that we would get a larger creation of answers if we put half of the surveys on social media.
This way we can also target hour psychographics
When it came to filming there was a slight issue because our group have the same actor as the Missguided group and we were filming at the same time.
Previously we had arranged that the Missguided group would filmed in the morning and we would film in the afternoon however on the actual day The other two groups clashed I had to be swapped
Because of this my group and the misguided group had to film at the same time
In editing you had yet another problem this was because of the split screen. When it came to the edit we realised that one of the takes was shorter than the others and as we had done the whole thing in one take the videos and they split screen did not match up.
