River dale
River dale- opening scene season one episode one
the narration of the story it to tell the audience the previous events the poupouse of it, it is to help the audience understand and put them in the right perspective for the series to come. As the series is a mystery the narration is spoken in a dreary way the voice over is also written/spoken by one of the main characters so this is not traditional non diabetic narration as it is his thought it is classed as meta diabetic narration. The dialogue of this opening scene starts off as a very typical story beginning for example “Our story is about a town, a small town and the people who live in the town from a distance it presents the self that so many have a small towns all over the world safe, decent, innocent, get closer though and you start seeing the shadows underneath” and this is unique because the opening scene of this TV series is being presented to the audience as if it was a book, I think this has a huge effect on the audience because they being told what this place is like and what has happened since that has caused the events in this town. In a way this has a very unique effects although it may have been used in have a TV series or films this gives the TV series it’s own one-of-a-kind feel.
The music in this opening scene begins as a kind of Music box vibe as if to say town is so beautiful and the people in it I like Jules in a jewellery boxBut even they can be twisted by the darkness. As it gets further into this song it has a Slow, summary, Calm vibe but has a hint of mystery to it as well this relates to the town and how even when everything is calm and beautiful there is still a mystery lurking in the shadows. When we get deeper into the video the summer vibe fades away and the mystery becomes more apparent. This is well done because as we get further into the video the mystery within the TV series becomes more intense and more exciting this goes with the music. The music is not the only thing playing there is a good amount of Ambience in the background for example you can hear the car and the water these sounds go with the music because they natural and then not too loud, it is like you we here in every day life the noises that you wouldn’t realise that unless they want and without them wouldn’t quite sound right. About minute into the first opening scene there is a thunderclap this has been added in and sounds like it’s been slightly exaggerated in the clip to make more of an effect on the audience. At this point the birds tweeting starts to get slightly louder and the faded, muffled noises of the police cars in the background.
Star Wars the Force awakens- The millennium falcon scene
This scene starts off with a bang. In the first seconds of this scene there are explosions and shots fired everywhere The sound affects that are used in this scene are explosions the guns that go peep you and the Thai fighters, I recently found out that the tie fighter sound affect is actually an elephant raw has just been modified by making more robotic and higher pitched this gives such a amazing affect to the scene because if they sound like normal everyday planes jets it wouldn’t sound right because the whole idea of Star Wars is that it’s futuristic sci-fi these sound affects give that feeling of higher technology and if you think about futuristic air travel the Thai fighters one of the first things that will pop into your head Star Wars has managed to make most of their sound effects and the music very iconic even the explosions and the firing of the guns sound futuristic and unique to death on if you were it watching a war film and you heard this noise it wouldn’t sound right because they have made their own identity with the Star Wars films. Even the little things like the sound hitting the ground after an explosion I have managed to add in and it is one of those things that you wouldn’t realise is there unless you listen closely or it wasn’t there at all then you would sense that something was off because of it. The dialogue in this scene is so little but what is said is massively effective to the scene they tell the audience what they’re doing unintentionally so when Finn says to Ray “we can’t out run them“ automatically setting upThe next bit of information that the audience will need for later on which is that Ray is the pilot. The way that they speak is very similar but also very unique where is Finn more erratic and scared, Ray also scared but she is calm in a way that is recognisable As soon as the dialogue starts you know who is the boss you know that Ray is in charge because of the way she speaks and the way she orders Finn to “man the guns”. Star Wars has managed to make all of the music is so iconic and recognisable that almost everyone even if they haven’t watched the film know where it’s from. The music kind of sets the scene the whole action and adventure is kind of tied up into the Orchestra score. The music adds the tension and the excitement into scene without it it wouldn’t be as tense, it’s almost as if the music puts you on the edge of your seat, it makes you interested and it pulls you into the film.
