sound effects
On Monday we got into our groups that we were in before to create the sound effects so that we could edit them in to the video. Unfortunately our in sound affects didn’t save so we could not use them, but instead another group let us used their sound and we use video converter to get siundv effects off the Internet. We started off by turning the sound off the original video so that you can hear the sound effects we created. Once that was done we found the appropriate sound effects for the moment in the scene, because we had to use sound effects off the Internet we had to use video converter and the site that we used was quite slow so we only got the sound effect of the knife stabbing.
Foley is when you make a sound effect from every day item that will be added in to a movie or video in post probuction for a better sound quality.
To get the sound effects we did a workshop with different items such as to make a stabbing noise we used a knife to chop up a cabbage, we also used a bucket of water to create the sound of the shower.
To capture the sounds we made we used a recording device. The research we carried out was primary as we were doing it ourselves. We also carried out secondary research for watching the video before creating the sound affects. When we finally managed to get the stabbing noise to work we had to overlap the noise on to the video this was hard because we needed to get the right timing.
The meaning of found content is when you use content that doesn’t belong to you such as we used for sound effects off of the Internet, you are allowed to use found content but not a lot of it and if you do use it you have to say where you found it or it could be considered piracy. The found content we used was the source of the knife.
The software we have been using to edit a video is premiere pro. I think I have seen still needs more sound affects to be added to it and some music to go over the top throughout the whole video.
