the choice 15

The choice 15    (14-18) phycological horror we chose this age range because they are into genres like physiological hours, action and stuff like this. We thought that this would be good for what we are filming as these genres are most likely to be appropriate to this age range. if we were to advertise our film on social media we would probably advertise it on places like Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter because our age rage are more likely to use these site more then they would use other such as Facebook because this is for an older audience.

Both of the movies that I choose to research use Facebook and Instagram as their platform of advertise meant so they use it to promote the film with trailers and videos and behind-the-scenes clips in my questionnaire I found out majority of people use  Snapchat and Instagram for social media so Instagram is a good place to advertise films but maybe not Facebook because not as many people use it however it may be more popular with older generations such as between 25 upwards as it is a more used  social media for them. The posts to advertise the films are very regular but usually every day so it could be one and then an hour later another one and then not one to the next day usually post I put up during the day, but students will be at school or college during the day so most likely won’t see year and we skipped past it later on in the day so they can see other things or talk to people.  However this is a good way to promote the movie on Instagram...

Production evaluation.

Production evaluation.  1. Full I will set design we originally researched on having a calendar background of 2018 of the upcoming shows and events we planned this so that we could show as weathers tell people about the upcoming events and cross them off as they went . Unfortunately we were unable to do this as the design was too complex so we thought about making more childish but it didn’t look right so we had to change the idea. Next thing we came up with was the one we used in the show we decided to have clippings of newspaper articles and events in NewsOn our backboards so that our set was more related ball to the program because it was 2018 we also decided to have 2018 on our backboards one letter for each board this looks really good and to finish off we had coloured lights on each board. We also had to do a graphics so we decided to have a projector behind the sofa is projecting onto a plane whiteboard graphics were Jan 2018 and fireworks this looks really good as...

top jobs

•       My top job in this industry would probably be camera operator because I’m quite interested in different shots that you can take and different photo angles, I think this would be and a useful skill to learn about for the film and television industry as will be using equipment like this in our upcoming collage news production. The skills the a camera operator will need is to know how to use the equipment so that there are no accidents during filming. They will also need to have good  attention to detail to makes sure that there is nothing in frame that shouldn’t be there, such as a boom microphone or a crew member. They will also need good listening skills so that they can hear what is being asked of them by the director so that the scene would not have to be shot again because of a mistake  or error with the camera .  They would also need good concentration to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the scene footage for example i...

Pete’s lesson

Week 1 Representation is when one person represents a minority or a religion. The movie that we like looked at was called barely lethal this movie looks at breaking stereotypes such as girls can’t fight as it is based on a female teenager agent and how she wants to escape the agency to go live a normal teenage life although it breaks the stereotype of girls being weak it strongly in forces stereotype of the new girl at school not knowing how to dress or how to act. In the school there were lots of different clicks as per usual in stereotypical high school movies. It also breaks the stereotype and race of how black people are followers as Samuel Jackson please Prescott.  The man in charge of the agency, Samuel Jackson also plays Nick Fury from the Marvel franchise suggesting that he is a powerful character. Week 2 A hypodermic needle is when audience is passive, this means they go along with what they’ve been told.  Lots of audience these days are passive becau...

tv research

The Tv how I chose to research is British Bake Off i feel like there is a lot to talk about due to the quality of the production. set/location of the production The set is well presented and set up colour palette and tone used within the show The set colours are very neutral containing white and brown rustic colours. hair and makeup All women have hair up is its long enough as it is a food based program. clothes All contestent are wearing apron and the judges are casual. presenters performance The presenters are well presented and use formal and technical terms when talking to contestants

tv show

Task 1 introduction of show collage wide news top music of the month local student discount adverts (different collage departments) interview staff student union introduction top movies of the month  So as the show is on New Year’s Day there should be a New Year’s theme to the show, for example the presenters could be surrounded by party decorations and cups as if there was a new years party that hadn’t been cleaned up yet.  This will make the show less formal and more relaxed.  We could also rearrange the studio to make it look like a student dorm room, there could be kitchen appliances And a TV surrounding them. They could also be presenting from a sofa to make the show more chill as if you were in the student dorm room.  The last option is to arrange the studio as if it was the classroom, so there will be lots of tables and chairs in the room and on one of them would be a presenters. This makes the show relate to the audience as it will be shown...

creating an interview

Image
When creating an interview make sure that you leave yourself time to set up and find the angel that you want to film before the person that you are interviewing shows up, so that they don't feel intimidated by the camera. During the interview make sure to keep eye contact with the person that you are interviewing so that the convention feels more natural and so the that the audience knows that there is another person in the room, you can also nod your head when listening to what they are saying to make them feel more commutable another thing you have to do when filming two people in an interview is not to brake the 180 degrees rule, this prevents the audience from getting confused because if you film from to different sides then it will seem as if both you and the person that you are filming are sitting and facing the same way and this would be confusing for the audience.

Audience

What is the audience?  An audience is the people that consume media. Why are audiences important?   The audience is important for the media industry because if there wasn’t an audience there wouldn’t be any media.  The audience is important media because this is how they base their productions, for example if there was a larger percentage of people watching actions then comedy’s then more actions will be filmed because appeals to a larger range of people. The impact of technology on the  audience?  New technology has had an impact on the media because audiences have become more fragmented.  Fragmented means the division of audience into smaller groups due to wide spectrum media outlets.  Larger priority of the audience are now using on demand, catch up, phones etc  Technology has affected how audience watch their programs in this way.  Whereas before technology you had to tune in at a certain time on a certain day to watch a prog...

white balance

Image
The week before last we did a lesson on white balance. white balancing is a process of removing unrealistic colour in the camera. We did this because we wanted to get a more natural colour. if the image had a to cold feel then we would put an orange or red coloured paper to balance the colour of the image.  This will then make the cold feel more natural like every day lighting.  If the camera has a too warm Phil and the colour That could be seen on the camera wasn’t more orange, red tone we would place a blue sheet of card in front of the lens to tone down the orange in the natural lighting.   You can also use white balance to create an atmosphere if it is not being shown on the screen, for example, if you wanted  The surroundings to look cold but it was the summer you could use this to create that feeling of coldness with the blue tint.  You could also use this blue Tim if you wanted to present it as being nighttime and you’re shooting during the day.  Th...

Evaluate the phyco scene

Today we screamed I work psycho shower scene, in which we had to create sound effects to add into a scene from psycho (Specifically the shower scene ). We first did this by watching the scene and listening to all the sounds we can hear and from there we listed  what sound affects we needed to create.  I feel like our production that we created was good, we could’ve added a few more  sound effects into production.  We were originally in groups of 4 to create the sound effects but then we split off into pairs to do the production. In our group we couldn’t find our sound effects that we created because we couldn’t remember where we save them, so we had to use noises from have a great and of the Internet. The sound affects that went well in our production where the shower because we managed to get it on good timing when the shower start so does the noise, we also managed to find some creepy nois The sound affects that went well in a production where the shower becaus...

light workshop

On Thursday in our lighting workshop we were put into groups of five and experimented with four different light setups. In all of theses setups the were three lights the key, the rim and the fill. The first setup we worked with was the red head the redheads have 1000 Watts each 3000 Watts altogether,  all this energy together is too much to put into one extension cable if you did the lights wouldn’t work.  These lights are very bright at the highest power, even though they were extremely bright they had a low coverage and focus, I found these lights quite easy to handle and easy to work with. Health and safety of these lights was that the units were very hot and had to use gloves, that the lambs could explode so you had to use mash. The second set up that we worked with was the dedo  lights these lights  300 warts all three of them add up to 900 W which can be plugged into one socket. The brightness was moderate because they were too bright but they won’t dark. ...

Seen soundtrack analysis aaaaaaa

Baby driver first driving seen bank robbery.   Music  Music would normally be a non-diagenetic when only the audience can hear the music but in baby driver the music is being played into headphones and also in the reality of the movie. This means not only the audience can hear it but it is being used in the actual reality of the movie so the characters can hear it to. The song that is being played in this scene is called Bellbottoms, this song is a very up beat bubbly tune and fits in well with this scene. Bellbottoms is being played into the headphone of Baby who is in sitting outside a bank whilst his passengers are inside the bank robbing it. The song starts of with an upbeat tune and no lyrics, before the singer starts there's a silence and then it goes really quite.  The beginning of the scene starts with a car pulling up outside bank, then Baby turns and looks at the camera and presses play on his iPod this starts the song bellbottoms.  When the s...

photogarphy

This week in the carousel we did photography, I think that this was useful and will help me with my media course. On this carousel we learnt about shutter speed, shutter speed is the length of time that the shutter takes to close and how long that the digital sensor inside the camera this exposed to light, the faster the shutter speed the sharper the picture. We went around the collage taking photos to test the shutter speed, we did this by changing the time that the shutter takes to close and see what effect this had on the image. The tolls we used were a digital camera.

sound effects

On Monday we got into our groups that we were in before to create the sound effects so that we could edit them in to the video. Unfortunately our in sound affects didn’t save so we could not use them, but instead another group let us used their sound and we use video converter to get siundv effects off the Internet. We started off by turning the sound off the original video so that you can hear the sound effects we created. Once that was done we found the appropriate sound effects for the moment in the scene, because we had to use sound effects off the Internet we had to use video converter and the site that we used was quite slow so we only got the sound effect of the knife stabbing. Foley is when you make a sound effect from every day item that will be added in to a movie or video in post probuction for a better sound quality.  To get the sound effects we did a workshop with different items such as to make a stabbing noise we used a knife to chop up a cabbage, we also used a b...

media

Image
Week three carousel media  Today in the media carousel we filmed an advert for a bit pen. When we got into the classroom we came up with ideas in groups of five or six and then presented them to the rest of the class and chose the best idea.  The idea is that we came up with was to have a rubber still the Bic pen from a house whilst the owners are asleep, then the owners wakes up and come downstairs to catch the rubber in the act, then they would have a fight over it, one of our other ideas was to have a classroom setting with a bic pen on the table next to someone and then one of the other students would try and steal the pen of the table, before he can do that the owner grabs it and they have a sword fight with the pens. The idea we chose was group 2  and it was about four hippies that go to the moon with a bic pen and fighting alien with the pen as a weapon. Anja and I did the Pops for the advert. We made space helmets and an alien mask for the production. Makin...

We made this gif in lesson today
*****COPY ALL BELOW TO A NEW POST**** Title : Critically Comparing my Skills, Processes and Methods 1st. Formulate your question: Look below at what you  are you being asked to evaluate. Unit 1 U1.2.1 Critically compare a range of communication methods used to convey meaning in creative media production. Note Critically is similar to compare but concentrate on the things that are different with two or more methods used or what sets them apart. Point out any differences which are particularly significant. In your own words say what U1.2.1 is asking you to do. Answer: U1.2.1  is asking me to evaluates more than one way of communicating in a media production and to evaluate how good or bad these different methods of communication would be such as talking to someone is a method of communication but if they were in a situation where they had to be quiet a better method would be to use signals which is also a communication method. 2nd. Gather your inf...

fashion

Document what you did in the session on Tuesday and Wednesday (Pictures, Diary entries, Printouts ETC) List under the following  Today in the carousel we did Fashion, the first thing that we did was to mix the ink, unfortunately because the ink powder was so expensive we want allowed to mix it ourselves. Once the inks were mixed we took colour swatches and write what colour we saw because after the colours go through the heat press they become more vibrant. After that we created a design to go on the tops of a film crew (these designs didn't actually go on to tops). In the next session we used embroidery hoops to pull and hold the fabric whilst we sewed on to out designs to create patents and outline the words "crew". We also used wonder web to attach fabric to our designs and to create a different texture to the materials. Once the fabric was attached we   secured it by sewing around the edges with the sewing machine this was to make sure that the materi...
